Ghotki (Web Desk): Pakistan People's Party (PPP) candidate Mohammad Bakhsh Mahar defeated independent candidate Ahmed Ali Mahar in the by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-205-Ghotki-II.
According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results of 290 polling stations, PPP's Mohammad Bakhsh Mahar received more than 89,000 votes, whereas Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed independent candidate Ahmed Ali Mahar took 72,499 votes.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated Mohammad Bakhsh Mahar.
Talking to newsmen in Ghotki, the PPP chief said that the people have given a clear message that they have made their decision.
Bilawal said that the win has marked the beginning of PPP’s victories.
This is pertinent to mention here that the NA seat fell vacant after the death of federal minister for narcotics control Ali Mohammad Mahar on May 21 due to cardiac arrest.
