Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to urgently send two planeloads of relief supplies to Gaza and Lebanon and called for using both land and aerial routes for the aid supply.
Chairing a meeting to review the relief activities for Palestine and Lebanon, the premier emphasized the need for a coordinated approach, urging better collaboration with Pakistan’s ambassadors in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to ensure the timely delivery of aid.
He also called on the public and overseas Pakistanis to contribute generously to the Prime Minister’s Fund for Gaza and Lebanon, sharing the account number for donations with Account No. IBAN:PK11SBPD000000111111429.
Additionally, he instructed officials to run an awareness campaign to inform people about the relief fund.
During the meeting, officials reported that crucial supplies, including winter tents, clothing, blankets, medicines, and food, are being prepared for shipment to those suffering from Israeli barbarism in Gaza and Lebanon.
However, the meeting was informed that Israeli attacks and the blockade are hindering relief efforts.
The government has also committed to assisting NGOs looking to send aid to these areas.
Federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, and Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State Shiza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi, chairmen of the Higher Education Commission, and National Disaster Management Authority and senior officers attended the meeting.
