Popular Punjabi actor and comedian Jaswinder Singh Bhalla dies aged 65

Mumbai (Web Desk): Veteran Punjabi actor and comedian Jaswinder Singh Bhalla has passed away at the age of 65 on Friday morning following a brain stroke.

According to the family sources, Bhalla was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali after suffering the stroke. Despite medical intervention, his condition could not be revived, and he breathed his last, sending shockwaves across the entertainment fraternity and among his admirers.

His last rites will be held on Saturday, August 23, at 12 noon at the Balongi Cremation Ground in Mohali. A large number of family members, fellow artists, political leaders, and devoted fans are expected to attend and pay their final respects.

Jaswinder Bhalla is survived by his wife Parmdeep Bhalla, son Pukhraj Bhalla, who has also made a name for himself in acting, and daughter Ashpreet Kaur.

Tributes and condolences have poured in from across the political and film landscape, reflecting the immense impact he had during his career.

Jaswinder Singh Bhalla began his journey in entertainment in 1988 with the release of the comedy audio cassette Chhankata 88, which quickly became a household favorite.

Over the years, he transitioned seamlessly into films, delivering memorable performances in some of the most successful Punjabi movies such as Carry On Jatta, Bhaji in Problem, and Sajjan Singh Rangroot.

Renowned for his sharp comic timing, relatable humor, and unique delivery, Jaswinder Bhalla became an icon of Punjabi satire and laughter. His contributions not only entertained generations but also helped shape the comedic landscape of regional cinema.
