Gold price increases by Rs6,600, reaches to Rs349,400 per tola in Pakistan

Karachi (Web Desk/Agencies): Gold and silver prices experienced a significant surge on Wednesday, reflecting broader trends in the international precious metals market.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24 karat gold rose sharply by Rs6,600 per tola, reaching Rs349,400 compared to Rs342,800 on the previous trading day.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold saw an increase of Rs5,659, settling at Rs299,554, up from Rs293,895. The value of 10 grams of 22 karat gold also climbed, rising by Rs5,188 to stand at Rs274,601.

Silver prices followed the same upward trajectory. The rate for one tola of silver increased by Rs56, bringing the new price to Rs3,466, while the price for 10 grams of silver went up by Rs48 to Rs2,971.

This domestic price hike came in response to global movements in the bullion market, where gold prices jumped by $66, reaching $3,310 from the earlier rate of $3,244.

International silver rates also edged higher, with an increase of $0.56, taking the new price to $33.08 per ounce.
