Astana (Web Desk/Agencies): Pakistan and Tajikistan on Tuesday underlined the early implementation of Central Asia-South Asia (CASA-1000), and other connectivity and regional integration projects for mutual benefit of the two countries and the wider region.
The bilateral ties and projects were discussed in bilateral meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, on the sidelines of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting being held in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana on May 20-21.
The two foreign ministers reaffirmed commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and high-level dialogue.
Ishaq Dar is in Astana, Kazakhstan to represent Pakistan at the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The event will be attended by foreign ministers of the SCO member states, the SCO Secretary-General and Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Executive Committee.
One of the main items on the agenda will be the comprehensive preparations for the upcoming meeting of the SCO Heads of States Council, which is to be held in July.
During the foreign ministers’ meeting, the heads of the delegations will exchange views on the international and regional agendas, security issues and the development of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the SCO.
