Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces killed 10 Khwarij in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa's Dera Ismail (DI) Khan district, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR), on March 20, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district on the reported presence of Khwarij.
"During the conduct of operation, own troops, after stealthily surrounding the khwarij location, effectively engaged them and resultantly all ten khwarij were sent to hell," the statement said.
The military’s media wing added that during the intense fire exchange, Captain Hasnain Akhtar (age: 24 years, resident of Jhelum district), who was leading his troops from the front, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat.
The ISPR said that Shaheed Captain Husnain was a brave officer, renowned for his courage and bold and daring actions during previous operations.
"During the operation, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Law Enforcement Agencies as well as target killing of innocent civilians," the statement said.
The military’s media wing said that a sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.
“The security forces of Pakistan were determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and "such sacrifices of our brave young officers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating ten Khawarij during the intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan.
President Zardari appreciated the security forces for killing terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij during the intelligence-based operation.
He paid tribute to Captain Hasnain Akhtar Shaheed for embracing martyrdom during the operation.
The president said that the nation would remember forever the sacrifices of the brave martyrs.
He commended the patriotism and bravery of Captain Hasnain Akhtar Shaheed.
President Zardari condoled with the bereaved family of the Shaheed and prayed for grant of patience to them.
He said the operations of security forces would continue till the complete elimination of terrorists.
“We will have unwavering determination to defend the country and eradicate terrorist elements,” the president added.
He expressed resolve to wipe out Fitna Al-Khawarij completely.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday lauded the officers and personnel of security forces for successful intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Khawarij in Dera Ismail Khan.
He appreciated the professional capabilities of officers and personnel of security forces for killing ten Khawarij during the operation.
PM Shehbaz paid tribute to Captain Hasnain Akhtar for embracing martyrdom while fighting bravely during the operation.
He prayed for the elevation of the rank of the martyr in Jannah and grant of fortitude to the bereaved family.
The prime minister said that the whole nation pays tribute to the brave Jawans of the security forces, and their families, for sacrificing their lives for the defence of the nation.
“War against the menace of terrorism would continue till its complete elimination from the country,” the premier said.
PM Shehbaz said that the whole Pakistani nation stood with the brave security forces in their unwavering commitment to defend the country against the miscreants and terrorists, he added.
