Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their greetings and best wishes to the Christian community in Pakistan and across the world on the occasion of Easter.
In his message President Zardari said “I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Christian community in Pakistan on the joyous occasion of Easter.”
He said that Easter is a time of hope, renewal, and the celebration of life. It reminds us of the values of compassion, sacrifice, and forgiveness. On this sacred day, we acknowledge the spirit of unity and harmony that binds us all together, regardless of faith or background.
“Our Constitution guarantees rights of minorities, and we will continue to work for the uplift and empowerment of all minorities in Pakistan. The Christian community in Pakistan has always played a significant role in the development of our country,” he added.
The president said, “We deeply value and acknowledge the contributions made by the Christian community in the fields of education, healthcare, social welfare and public service. We are proud of their commitment to the betterment and uplift of our society and their dedication to the principles of peace, harmony and coexistence.”
“As we celebrate this day, let us reaffirm our resolve to promote tolerance, mutual respect, and interfaith harmony and work for the peace and prosperity of our beloved country. May this Easter bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to all,” he said, adding, “I once again wish the Christian community a blessed, peaceful and joyous Easter,” President Zardari said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended his greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and across the world on the occasion of Easter.
“I extend my warmest greetings to our Christian brothers and sisters in Pakistan and across the world on the auspicious occasion of Easter,” he said.
“Easter is a profound celebration of hope and renewal. It reminds us of the enduring power of faith and of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, one of the great Messengers of Allah, whose message of compassion, humility, and love continues to uplift and inspire humanity,” he added.
PM Shehbaz said that this sacred occasion calls for reflection on the universal values of sacrifice, forgiveness, and peace, principles that transcend boundaries and unite people of all faiths and cultures.
“On this joyous day, I also pay tribute to the invaluable contributions of our Christian community, both in the historic struggle for the creation of Pakistan and in its continued socio-economic progress. Their dedication and service stand as a source of strength for our nation, and I am confident they will remain active participants in shaping a more inclusive, prosperous, and united Pakistan,” he continued.
“At a time when conflict and human suffering persist in many parts of the world, Easter serves as a powerful reminder to renew our collective resolve to uphold human dignity, build bridges of understanding, and foster lasting harmony among all people,” the premier said.
