Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif represented Pakistan effectively at the World Urban Forum, where participants reportedly appreciated her government’s two-year performance and public welfare initiatives.


Speaking to the media, Azma Bukhari stated that Punjab government’s flagship programmes received positive acknowledgment from international delegates at the global event.

She said the Chief Minister briefed participants in detail about major welfare and development projects launched during her tenure.


She highlighted that initiatives such as “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar,” “Suthra Punjab,” “Model Village,” and “Clean Water” projects were particularly well received at the forum.

According to her, the international attention towards these public welfare schemes reflects the strength of Maryam Nawaz’s governance and is a matter of pride for Punjab.


The report further suggests that participants at the World Urban Forum described Punjab’s efforts in urban development, environmental sustainability, and provision of basic facilities to citizens as a potential model for other developing countries.

Azma Bukhari added that the provincial government would further accelerate its public service agenda in light of the global recognition.
