Washington (Web Desk): US Secretary of Defense Pat Hegseth has claimed that the United States is achieving its objectives in the ongoing military operations against Iran, stating that Tehran’s defensive and offensive capabilities have been “almost entirely neutralized.” He described the current conflict as fundamentally different from traditional wars.
During a briefing, Hegseth revealed that over 7,000 targets in Iran have been struck in recent operations. He described the latest air campaign as the largest single strike of the operation so far, asserting: “We are fighting this war to win—and we are winning.”
Detailing Iranian military losses, the Secretary of Defense said that 120 naval vessels and 11 submarines of the Iranian Navy have been destroyed.
He also claimed that Iran’s ballistic missile production capabilities have been completely crippled, forcing Iranian leadership to take refuge in bunkers for safety.
Referring to the operation by name, Hegseth stated that “Operation Epic Fury” will continue until all of Iran’s offensive capabilities are fully eliminated. He criticized some media outlets for misrepresenting the conflict, emphasizing that the US is progressing rapidly according to its planned objectives.
Hegseth paid tribute to US military personnel who have lost their lives during the operations, stating that their sacrifices will always be remembered. He also noted that Iran continues to support proxy groups in the region, calling their elimination “inevitable.”
