Lahore (Web Desk): Today marks the 29th anniversary of the passing of legendary Pakistani film personality Sudhir, fondly remembered as Lala Sudhir.

His birth name was Shah Zaman Khan, and he was born in Lahore in 1921, later rising to prominence as a distinguished actor, director, and producer in the local film industry.

He carved a lasting place in cinema through a string of popular films such as Hachkolay, Dulla Bhatti, Mahi Munda, Yakke Wali, Dopatta, and Son of Un Daata, which earned him widespread acclaim and a loyal fan following.

His remarkable career was acknowledged with Nigar Awards in 1970, 1974, and 1981, in addition to receiving the Best Actor Award for the film Lottery and a Special Award recognizing three decades of exceptional service to film.

Sudhir passed away in Lahore on this day in 1997, but his artistic legacy continues to live on through his memorable work and enduring influence on Pakistani cinema.v
