PTI founder, Bushra Bibi sent on 14-day judicial remand in new Toshakhana case

Islamabad (Web Desk): An accountability court on Monday sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in the new Toshakhana reference.

Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana conducted the hearing at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.

The couple appeared before the court after completion of 11-day physical remand.

During the hearing of the case, the accused submitted a written answer in the court in response to the questionnaire by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were represented by their lawyers Zaheer Abbas Chaudhary and Salman Safdar.

NAB Deputy Director Mohsen Haroon and Special Prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi also appeared at the court to present their arguments.

The judge also ordered to produce the former premier and his wife before the court on September 2.

The previous hearing of the new reference was held on August 8.

On July 13, NAB arrested the PTI founder and his wife in a new case hours after they were acquitted by an Islamabad court in Iddat case.

The anti corruption watchdog arrested the couple in the Adiala Jail in a case related to alleged misuse of power for acquiring Toshakhana gifts.
