Lahore (Web Desk): Fifth death anniversary of the renowned film, TV and stage actor Ali Ejaz is being observed today (Monday).
Ali Ejaz was born in 1941 in Lahore. He started his career in 1967 and was well known for his role in a popular television comedy drama series Khawaja and Son. His other television hits include serials like Lakhon Mein Teen with Qavi Khan and Athar Shah Khan and Dubai Chalo.
He started his film career in 1961 and worked in films such as FBI Operation Pakistan (1971), Sona Chandi (1983), and Chor Machaye Shor (1996). He was awarded Pride of Performance in 1993.
In his later life, Ejaz was involved in philanthropic work under the umbrella of his eponymous charity Ali Ejaz Foundation. One of his notable projects was the ‘The Homes for the Welfare of the Old People’, which involved the construction of 132 old homes over an area of 17.5 kanals in Gol village, Kala Khatai, near Ferozewala.
He died in Lahore on this day in 2018 at the age of 77 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
