Punjab CM launches electric bus service, visits flood relief camp in Wazirabad

Wazirabad (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially inaugurated the electric bus service in Wazirabad, marking a significant step toward addressing the city’s long-standing public transport issues. Expressing surprise over the previous lack of such services in the area, the CM said this new facility is a welcome addition for local residents.

She also announced that a Metro Bus Service in Gujranwala will be launched soon. The fare from Wazirabad to Gujranwala will be just Rs. 20, while students, women, and differently-abled individuals will be able to travel completely free of charge.

Later, CM Maryam Nawaz visited a flood relief camp set up for those affected by the recent devastating floods. She met with displaced families, reviewed rescue operations, and assessed the available relief facilities.

In a compassionate gesture, she personally served food to the victims and interacted warmly with children to boost their morale.

The Chief Minister remarked that Punjab is facing one of the worst floods in its history, but added that the Pakistan Army, Rescue teams, Health Department, and Police are making every possible effort to support affected citizens.

She also distributed gifts among women and children, bringing moments of joy and comfort to the struggling families.
