Punjab CM Maryam launches green electric bus service in 5 more districts

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has extended the province's eco-friendly public transport network by introducing green electric bus services in five more districts including Murree, Sialkot, Okara, Chiniot and Layyah.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Lahore on Thursday, she announced that around 1,100 electric buses will be running in various cities across Punjab by the 15th of August, marking a major step towards modern and sustainable transportation.

Maryam added that an additional 1,500 electric buses are expected to join the fleet during the current year, which will raise the total number of buses in operation to 3,000 over the next three years.

Highlighting the government's long-term vision, the chief minister said the provincial administration plans to expand the fleet to 5,000 electric buses within the next five years to further strengthen green and efficient public transport across Punjab.
