Lahore (Staff Report/Agencies): PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has announced to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) assemblies on December 23 (Friday).
“I want to inform the people about why I have decide to dissolve the assemblies in both the provinces where PTI is in power,” said Imran Khan while addressing via video link from his residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park to PTI workers and supporters gathered at Liberty Chowk on Saturday. “In this country, until free and fair elections don’t take place, fears will still remain that the country might default,” he added.
Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan were beside him as well for the address.
Earlier in the day, Imran Khan held a consultative meeting with Punjab CM, K-P Chief Minister and other senior party leaders to discuss important political issues and future strategies.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to move a no-confidence motion against Parvez Elahi and Punjab Assembly Speaker Muhammad Sibtain Khan.
According to sources, the members of the PML-N signed a resolution at Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan’s house. The sources added that at least 106 party members were present at Mashood’s residence to sign the resolution and is expected that the no-confidence motion will be submitted soon.
On Thursday, President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday held two separate meeting with PTI Chairman and Punjab CM. During the meeting with former premier, matters regarding political situation and dissolving of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
