Abu Dhabi (Web Desk): Bangladesh secured a thrilling 8-run victory over Afghanistan in the 9th match of the Asia Cup T20 tournament, strengthening their position in Group B.

The match was played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, where Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Posting a competitive total, Bangladesh scored 154 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Tanzid Hasan was the top scorer with a composed 52-run knock, while Saif Hasan added 30 runs and Towhid Hridoy contributed 26.

For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad were the standout bowlers, claiming 2 wickets each.

Chasing a target of 155 runs, the Afghan side showed resilience but ultimately fell short, managing 146 runs in 20 overs, with all wickets down. Despite their efforts, the Afghan batters struggled to build momentum against disciplined Bangladeshi bowling.
