Qatar’s Emir hails-US Iran deal in meeting with Trump on sidelines of G7 summit

France (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump met with the Emir of Qatar on the sidelines of the Group of Seven G-7 summit, where the two leaders discussed a range of international issues, including the recently announced agreement involving Iran.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, President Trump said the Iran agreement had moved into its second phase and expressed confidence that a fair deal had been reached with Tehran.

The US president emphasized that Washington was not investing in Iran or providing financial assistance under the arrangement. He stressed that the United States’ primary objective remained ensuring that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.

Trump also warned that any attempt by Iran to restart its nuclear program would trigger a strong response. He praised Qatar’s role in recent diplomatic efforts, saying the Gulf state had played an important part in managing developments and helping facilitate progress.

During his remarks, Trump also called on Russia to reach an agreement with Ukraine, arguing that a negotiated settlement was necessary to bring an end to the ongoing conflict.

The meeting highlighted Qatar’s continuing diplomatic involvement in regional and international affairs, while discussions at the G7 summit remained focused on security, geopolitical stability, and efforts to resolve major global conflicts.
