In meeting with Emir of Qatar, PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to stronger bilateral partnership

Doha (Web Desk): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Tuesday during his official visit to Doha, underscoring Pakistan’s determination to further strengthen its enduring partnership with the Gulf nation.

The two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in political relations between the two countries.

They highlighted the need to broaden cooperation in all spheres of shared interest and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deepening the longstanding fraternal relationship.

Sheikh Tamim emphasized Qatar’s intention to elevate economic collaboration with Pakistan to a strategic level.

Conversations focused on converting strong political relations into practical economic initiatives and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation.

The discussions also touched on regional and international developments of mutual concern. Both sides stressed the value of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of conflicts, and reiterated their support for closer coordination in multilateral forums. They agreed to remain in regular contact regarding key regional matters.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, were present during the talks.

Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the meeting had been warm and constructive, noting that discussions centered on advancing brotherly relations and reinforcing economic ties.

He emphasized that Pakistan and Qatar would continue cooperating to ensure regional and global peace and stability.

The prime minister extended an invitation to Sheikh Tamim to visit Pakistan, which the Emir accepted. The visit is anticipated to take place later this year.
