Any US war against Tehran would serve as “a lesson” for Trump, says Iran’s top military commander

Tehran (Web Desk):  Iranian Chief of Staff, Major General Abdulrahim Mousavi, has strongly responded to recent statements by US President Donald Trump, warning that any conflict with Iran would be a “lesson he would never forget.”

In a statement, Mousavi said that Trump’s remarks are unbecoming of a head of state and questioned why, if Trump truly seeks war, the administration is engaging in negotiations. He emphasized that a military confrontation would have serious consequences for the United States.

Meanwhile, the second round of Iran-US talks is set to begin on Tuesday in Geneva under Omani mediation. Iranian Foreign Minister, along with a diplomatic and technical delegation, has departed for Switzerland to participate in the discussions.

These talks come amid increasing pressure from the Trump administration on Iran. Recently, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that no successful deal has been reached with Iran to date and warned that if negotiations fail, the United States would take action in accordance with US law.

Analysts suggest that Mousavi’s remarks are aimed at signaling Iran’s readiness to defend its interests while highlighting the risks of military escalation, even as diplomacy continues.
