Field Marshal Asim Munir, Iranian Parliament Speaker Bagher Ghalibaf discuss bilateral ties and regional security

Tehran  (Web Desk): Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during his official visit to Tehran, where discussions were held on bilateral relations and regional security, according to Iranian media reports.

The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, including efforts to enhance cooperation and promote stability in the region.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit is part of Pakistan’s ongoing mediation efforts between the United States and Iran.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also accompanying him, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to reducing regional tensions and promoting peace.

A day earlier, the Field Marshal also held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s role in hosting and facilitating dialogue, stating that both countries share a strong and common commitment to peace and stability in the region.

Diplomatic observers suggest that the visit may play an important role in easing tensions in the Middle East and supporting the continuation of dialogue between Tehran and Washington. Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement is increasingly being viewed as a key factor in regional peace efforts.
