Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz reviews flood relief operations in Alipur

Muzaffargarh (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday visited Alipur tehsil of Muzaffargarh, one of the worst-affected areas in the recent floods, and reviewed relief camps and interacted directly with displaced families.

During her visit, the Deputy Commissioner of Muzaffargarh and the Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) briefed the chief minister on the extent of the damage and the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures.

Maryam Nawaz also visited a relief camp where she spoke to flood survivors and listened to their concerns.

She directed officials to ensure immediate redressal of the issues raised by the affected families.
In a compassionate gesture, she distributed gifts among children and personally served food to women and children, an act that brought visible relief and joy to those staying in the camp.

The Punjab CM was accompanied by provincial ministers Maryam Aurangzeb, Khawaja Imran Nazir, and Sohaib Bharath.

She also distributed financial assistance cheques to the families of those who had lost their lives in the floods, helping them recover from their devastating losses.

Reaffirming her government’s commitment, Maryam Nawaz assured the flood-affected people that the Punjab government would complete relief and rehabilitation work on a priority basis.

She emphasized that every possible facility would be extended to help families rebuild their lives and return to normalcy at the earliest.
