PSL 10: Islamabad United defeat Peshawar Zalmi by 103 runs

Rawalpindi(Web Desk): In the fifth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, Islamabad United thrashed Peshawar Zalmi by a massive margin of 103 runs, securing a dominant victory at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Chasing a mammoth target of 244 runs, Peshawar Zalmi crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for just 141 runs. Islamabad's bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Imad Wasim taking 3 wickets and skipper Shadab Khan grabbing 2.

Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam failed to anchor the innings, falling early once again. Though Mohammad Haris fought valiantly with a brilliant 87-run knock, no other batsman could support him, resulting in a one-sided defeat.

Earlier, Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bat first. Despite losing an early wicket, Sahibzada Farhan and Colin Munro stitched together a blistering 144-run partnership, laying a solid foundation for a massive total.

Sahibzada Farhan scored his maiden PSL century, smashing 106 runs off 52 balls, including 13 fours and 5 sixes. Supporting roles came from Munro (40), Salman Ali Agha (30), Jason Holder (20 not out), and Ben Dwarshuis (18 not out).

For Peshawar Zalmi, Hussain Talat and Alzarri Joseph picked up 2 wickets each.
