PM Shehbaz hails Trump as 'man of peace' for his role in brokering landmark Gaza ceasefire deal

Sharm El Sheikh (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday described the Gaza peace agreement as a historic achievement in modern times.

Speaking at a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi after the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit in Egypt, he commended the relentless diplomatic efforts that brought peace to the region.

The Prime Minister praised President Trump’s unwavering commitment to global harmony, calling him a ‘genuine man of peace’ who worked tirelessly over the past several months to make the world safer and more prosperous.

Highlighting Trump’s mediation in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan earlier this year, Shehbaz Sharif said that without his intervention, the outcome could have been disastrous, as both countries were nuclear-armed.

He recalled that Pakistan had nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize following that successful mediation and announced that, in light of the historic Gaza peace accord, Pakistan is once again nominating him for the same honor for saving countless lives.

Shehbaz Sharif also expressed gratitude to international and Arab leaders whose efforts played a vital role in realizing this peace process.
