PM Shehbaz condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia, reaffirms unwavering support for kingdom’s security

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday condemned the attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying they represented a serious violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and warning that such actions could further endanger peace and stability in the region.

“Pakistan strongly condemns the blatant attacks carried out against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last night,” the prime minister said in a post on X adding that “Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering support for the Kingdom’s security and stands in complete solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at this critical time”.

The prime minister further said Pakistan would continue to support every sincere initiative aimed at fostering regional peace, stability, security, and greater mutual understanding across the region.

Earlier, in a post shared on X, Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) said that Ambassador Usman Jadoon, during UN Security Council’s Emergency Briefing on developments in the Middle East, denounced the Houthi missile strikes targeting Saudi Arabia.

“Pakistan has strongly condemned the Houthi ballistic missile attacks against Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its full solidarity with the Kingdom and unwavering support for its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” he said.

"We express our full solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom and reaffirm our steadfast support for its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity," he said.

The ambassador also reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to Yemen's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, stressing that Islamabad's position remains firmly aligned with the principles of the UN Charter and international law.

"We also reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Yemen, consistent with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law, he said."

Jadoon urged all parties involved to prioritise peaceful engagement over confrontation.
