Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday voiced strong condemnation of the Houthi assault on civilian and energy installations in Saudi Arabia, an attack that resulted in injuries to several people.

“I condemn in the strongest terms the cowardly attack by Houthis targeting civilian and energy facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have left many people injured,” the prime minister stated in a message posted on his X account.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm and unconditional support for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia, describing them as a brotherly nation.

“Such dastardly attacks threaten innocent lives as well as regional peace and security,” Prime Minister Shehbaz said, reiterating Pakistan’s consistent commitment to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

He also expressed his prayers for the prompt recovery of all those wounded in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office (FO) has strongly condemned the “reprehensible attacks carried out by the Houthi militia” on civilian and economic facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the FO said that the strikes were a blatant breach of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

It noted that such attacks not only endangered regional peace and stability but also weakened ongoing international efforts to achieve a peaceful and sustainable settlement to the conflict in Yemen.

“Consistent with the UN Charter and international law, Pakistan fully supports the Kingdom's legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its territory, protect its citizens and residents and safeguard its national assets against any threat,” the statement added.

The FO said that Pakistan has been and will continue to make all efforts for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
