In phone calls with DPM Dar, FMs of Kuwait and Canada laud Pakistan's role in facilitating Islamabad talks

Islamabad (Web Desk): Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jabel Al-Sabah, in a telephone call with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating the Islamabad Talks, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO).

As per the statement, during the conversation, the Kuwaiti foreign minister acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive involvement in hosting and enabling the dialogue process, noting its positive contribution to ongoing diplomatic engagement.

“The Kuwaiti FM commended Pakistan’s role in facilitating the Islamabad talks and appreciated the DPM/FM’s efforts in this regard,” the statement said.

The statement Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s consistent policy of promoting dialogue-based solutions and reiterated that engagement remains essential for resolving disputes peacefully.

He said, “reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue sustained efforts, emphasising dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to resolving issues.”

The statement further noted that both sides reviewed the depth of bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to further strengthening cooperation. “Both sides reaffirmed the strong Pakistan-Kuwait ties and agreed to remain in close contact.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also held a telephonic discussion with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, during which they exchanged perspectives on recent regional developments, including the US-Iran negotiations linked to the Islamabad Talks.

According to the Foreign Office, the Canadian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s facilitation of diplomatic engagement among relevant stakeholders.

Dar, in his remarks, stressed the importance of adherence to ceasefire understandings and reiterated Pakistan’s continued backing for dialogue and diplomacy.

The two ministers also agreed to stay engaged as the situation evolves. “Both foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact.”
