Renowned poet Syed Zameer Jafri remembered on death anniversary 

Islamabad (Web Desk): The 26th death anniversary of renowned Urdu Poet Syed Zameer Jafri is being observed today (Monday).

The illustrious Urdu figure whose wit and wisdom left an indelible imprint on the landscape of Urdu literature, Zameer Jafri was born on January 1, 1916, in Chak Abdul Khaliq, a village near Dina in the Jhelum district.

He rose from humble beginnings to become a celebrated voice of poetic intellect and humanistic thought.

With a distinctive style that harmonized humour with insight, he carved a niche for himself in both poetry and prose, endearing himself to generations of readers.

Over the span of his prolific career, he penned approximately 78 books, each infused with his unwavering commitment to peace, his reverence for humanity, and a deep-rooted sense of compassion that transcended the written word.

Syed Zameer Jafri passed away on May 12, 1999, in Bay Shore, New York, and was laid to rest in his hometown of Jhelum.

Today, as admirers recall his legacy, Syed Zameer Jafri remains not merely a memory, but a lasting beacon in the rich tradition of Urdu literature.
