Lahore (Web Desk): The 33rd death anniversary of the celebrated Urdu poet Akhtar Hussain Jafri was observed on Tuesday.
Born on August 15, 1932, in Hoshiarpur, Jafri moved to Pakistan after the partition of the Indian subcontinent.
Throughout his life, he made significant contributions to Urdu literature, with his poetry collections, including Aina Khana and Jahan Darya Attarta Hai, earning widespread acclaim.
In recognition of his literary achievements, the Government of Pakistan honored him with the Presidential Medal for Excellence in 2002.
Akhtar Hussain Jafri passed away on June 3, 1992, in Lahore, but his work continues to resonate deeply within the literary community.
