Renowned poet Akhtar Hussain Jafri remembered on death anniversary 

Lahore (Web Desk): Today marks the 34th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Akhtar Hussain Jafri, whose literary work continues to be remembered with respect across literary circles.

Born on August 15, 1932 in the Hoshiarpur district of India, he went on to establish himself as an important voice in Urdu poetry.

Over the course of his career, he produced several notable works, including his poetry collections “Aina Khana” and “Jahan Darya Utarta Hai,” which reflect his creative depth and distinct poetic expression.

In recognition of his contributions to literature, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Presidential Medal for Excellence in 2002.

He passed away in Lahore on this day in 1992, leaving behind a rich literary legacy that continues to inspire readers and poetry enthusiasts.
