DGMOs of Pakistan, India hold first round of talks after ceasefire

Islamabad (Web Desk): In a significant move to ease tensions, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) from Pakistan and India held their first round of talks following a US-mediated ceasefire agreement.

These discussions, which took place after a halt in hostilities along the Line of Control (LoC), were aimed at restoring peace and normalizing the situation on the border.

The talks were led by Pakistan’s DGMO, Major General Kashif Abdullah, and his Indian counterpart, Lieutenant General Rajeev.

The completion of this initial dialogue phase has raised hopes for further progress.

The ceasefire, which was facilitated by the intervention of the United States and supported by other friendly nations, paved the way for these talks.

Under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, both countries have agreed to hold future negotiations in a third-party nation.

This is seen as an effort to build on the recent developments and address some of the longstanding challenges between the two nations.

Sources added that both Pakistan and India have expressed a strong desire to continue the dialogue and work towards improving their bilateral relationship.
