Gandapur, Gohar-led PTI convoy in Lahore as party ramps up Punjab strategy

Lahore (Web Desk): A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convoy led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan arrived in Lahore on Saturday, signaling what party insiders are describing as the formal beginning of a reinvigorated political movement.

The arrival of the PTI leadership comes at a time of heightened political tension in Punjab. The Punjab government had ramped up security measures ahead of the visit, deploying a strong police presence in key areas of Lahore and detaining several PTI workers in anticipation of potential gatherings or protests.

The convoy, which departed from Islamabad earlier in the day, made its way to the Raiwind Road farmhouse of former Deputy Senate Chairman Mirza Muhammad Afridi. Notably, the residence is situated near the estate of the Sharif family — a location that carries symbolic political significance, given PTI's longstanding rivalry with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Upon arrival, the PTI leaders were received by party members and close allies at the farmhouse, where a formal dinner was arranged.
