Asia Cup 2025: Bangladesh win toss, decide to field first against Hong Kong

Abu Dhabi (Web Desk): Bangladesh chose to bowl first after winning the toss against Hong Kong in the third match of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025, being played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

The contest marks only the second time these two sides are meeting in a T20 international.

Their previous clash came during the qualifiers of the 2014 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where Hong Kong pulled off an upset by dismissing Bangladesh for 108 runs and later chasing the target in the last over despite losing eight wickets.

Both teams approach this match with contrasting form. Bangladesh have enjoyed a strong run with just a single defeat in their last five completed T20Is, while Hong Kong entered the tournament on the back of two consecutive victories.

This is Bangladesh’s first outing in the Asia Cup 2025, whereas Hong Kong already endured a heavy 94-run loss to Afghanistan in the opening match of the competition.
