Lahore/Karachi: Former president Asif Zardari has demanded prime minister’s slot for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
According to sources, in a meeting with PML-N leaders, the PPP has agreed to make a coalition government on the condition that Bilawal will be made the PM.
However, the PML-N offered a “massive package” to PPP ranging from the post of president of Pakistan, Senate chairman, NA speaker, Balochistan CM, Punjab CM.
Besides these, the PPP was also offered a number of ministries to the Peoples Party in Punjab.
PML-N leadership also held a meeting on Saturday, which was headed by Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting was attended by Senator Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, Attaullah Tarar, Khawaja Imran Nazir and others to discuss various options for government formation.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari summoned a meeting of the party’s central executive committee (CEC) in Islamabad on Monday at Zardari House in Islamabad.
The PPP chairman said it was in the interest of the country that “we forge a political consensus on the way forward in the CEC of the party.
“We will try to forge this political consensus and would like to bring some positive change for the people of the country. If the government is formed, then we will not be able to solve problems of people without addressing the political toxicity,” he said.
