Interior Minister Naqvi inaugurates upgraded Aabpara Police Station in Islamabad 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday inaugurated the upgraded Aabpara Police Station following the completion of its renovation and reconstruction, describing the development as part of the broader drive to modernise police facilities across Islamabad.

During his inspection, Naqvi visited different sections of the police station to assess the services and amenities available to citizens.

He examined the offices of the Station House Officer (SHO), the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), the inquiry section and the waiting area, besides reviewing other sections of the facility.

The minister also inspected the public counters to see how visitors and complainants were being facilitated.

Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for people approaching the police station with complaints or seeking assistance.

He also held a meeting with members of the Dispute Resolution Committee and commended their efforts to settle disputes by encouraging dialogue and mediation instead of allowing matters to escalate.

The interior minister said the upgraded station was intended to offer citizens a more modern, dignified and service-oriented environment.

He stressed that police stations should remain accessible places where people can raise their concerns and receive appropriate assistance without facing unnecessary inconvenience.

Naqvi instructed police officials to ensure that every complaint lodged by a citizen receives proper attention and action.

He particularly directed them to prevent unnecessary delays or obstacles in the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs), emphasizing that citizens should not have to struggle to get their complaints formally registered.

He also called on police personnel to deal with visitors in a polite, professional and responsible manner.

According to the minister, efficient public service and a prompt response to complaints must continue to be central priorities for police officials.

During the inspection, the interior minister was briefed in detail about the renovation and reconstruction carried out at the Aabpara Police Station.

Officials also informed him about the facilities and improvements introduced as part of the upgrading project.

Senior police officers, including the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), the Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations), and other officials were also present on the occasion.
