Karachi (Web Desk): The local gold market on Friday witnessed a sharp upswing, with the price of 24-karat gold per tola jumping by Rs3,400 to close at Rs469,562. The cost of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also rose significantly, gaining Rs2,915 to reach Rs402,573.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGA), the upward trend extended to 22-karat gold as well, with 10 grams increasing by Rs2,672 to settle at Rs369,038.
Silver followed suit, with 24-karat silver per tola going up by Rs70 to Rs8,195, and 10 grams of silver climbing Rs60 to Rs7,025.
Globally, gold edged higher by $34, trading at $4,472 per ounce, while silver recorded a modest increase of $0.70, reaching $77.20 per ounce, according to the association.
