Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces have killed four Khawarij terrorists while effectively thwarting their attack on Frontier Corps Headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa’s (KP) Mohmand district, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants attempted to breach the FC headquarters in the early hours of Friday but were swiftly neutralised by the security personnel.
"The attempt to enter the camp was effectively thwarted by our forces, and all four suicide bombers were killed before they could inflict any damage," the statement said.
It added that a sanitisation operation was underway to ensure no other terrorists remain in the area.
The military’s media wing affirmed the forces' continued vigilance and commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country.
“Our security forces stand valiant, demonstrating sheer determination and resolve in their mission,” the ISPR said.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Ministetr Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the security forces for foiling Khawarij attack on the FC headquarters in Mohmand.
“Our security forces successfully eliminated all the four Khawarij involved in the attack,” President Zardari said in a statement issued by the President House.
He commended the security forces for eliminating all four terrorists involved in the attack.
President Zardari praised the security forces’ effective and courageous action against the terrorists, saying that the entire nation was proud of its brave soldiers who were always ready to defend the motherland.
He reiterated that terrorists will not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement, commended the army personnel for eliminating four suicide bombers who attempted to storm the camp.
“The entire nation including me salute the brave officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army,” he said.
PM Shehbaz reiterated the government’s resolve to continuing fight against terrorism until its complete eradication from the country.
He appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Army’s soldiers and officers for cleansing Pakistan’s soil of terrorist elements.
“The entire nation stands united with the armed forces in the war against terrorism,” PM Shehbaz said.
