Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on Saturday to discuss the death of King Harald V.
During the conversation, DPM Dar offered Pakistan’s deepest condolences over the monarch’s demise, conveying the sympathies of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, himself, and the people of Pakistan.
He extended Pakistan’s support and condolences to members of the Norwegian Royal Family as well as the people of Norway as they mourned the loss.
Dar further told the Norwegian foreign minister that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had designated Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan to attend the funeral procession in Oslo on September 9 as Pakistan’s representative.
The two ministers also agreed to stay in regular contact and said they looked forward to meeting during the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.
