Karachi (Web Desk): The Change of Guards ceremony in connection with the Defence Day was held at the Mazar-e-Quaid (mausoleum of the Founder of the Nation) in Karachi on Friday.
During the ceremony, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy – Asghar Khan’s armed squad took over the guard duties at the Mazar-e-Quaid.
A total of 74 cadets including 13 females of Pakistan Air Force were posted for professional duties at the Mazar.
Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Asghar Khan, Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan Sitara-e-Imtiaz military was the chief guest at the ceremony.
He inspected the parade and lay a floral wreath at the Quaid’s shrine.
On the occasion, Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan Sitara-e-Imtiaz paid salute to the martyrs who laid down their lives this day in 1965 war defending the motherland from the enemy.
He expressed the determination that defense of the country, its territorial borders will be safeguarded and will not hesitate in rendering any sacrifice defending the motherland.
“Pakistan is a peace loving and progressive nation and made it clear our pacifism should not be considered as our weakness and vowed that all the ill designs of the enemy will be foiled,” Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan said.
Representatives of all three armed forces, DG Rangers Sindh and Corps Commander Karachi attended the ceremony and laid floral wreaths at the Mazar-e-Quaid.
