Working tirelessly for safe evacuation of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan: FO

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its mission in Amman, is actively engaged in efforts to ensure the safe release and evacuation of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who was unlawfully taken into custody by Israeli occupying authorities.

Responding to media quiries concerning Pakistani nationals aboard the Sumud flotilla, the Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson said that, with the crucial cooperation of the Jordanian government, the process is expected to be completed successfully in the coming days.

The FO spokesperson expressed profound gratitude to the Jordanian government, describing its support and coordination as both exemplary and deeply appreciated.

On October 2, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan was detained by Israeli forces as he took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla, a humanitarian mission aimed at delivering relief to Gaza, which remains under an ongoing blockade.

Leading a five-member delegation from Pakistan, Khan joined international activists and aid organizations on the flotilla in a bid to provide assistance to the conflict-stricken territory.

The Israeli military intercepted the convoy of over 40 vessels approximately 42.5 nautical miles, or 79 kilometers, off Gaza’s coast, arresting more than 450 participants aboard the ships.

The action has sparked global outrage, with numerous nations and rights advocates condemning Tel Aviv for hindering humanitarian relief efforts and breaching international humanitarian standards.
