Oman hosts US-Iran nuclear talks today as delegations arrive in Muscat

Muscat (Web Desk): Iran and the United States (US) are set to hold nuclear negotiations today in Muscat, with senior representatives from both sides having arrived in the Omani capital.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the US Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, reached Muscat ahead of the talks.

According to an international news agency, the US delegation also includes Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump, who arrived in Oman alongside Witkoff.

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Foreign Minister Araghchi will take part in the nuclear talks with the United States later this morning.

The spokesperson emphasized that Iran is entering the talks with full authority and a clear objective of achieving an agreement that is fair, mutually acceptable, and grounded in dignity.

The negotiations were initially scheduled to take place in Turkiye, but Iran requested that the venue be shifted from Istanbul to Oman.

Tehran has also made it clear that no regional partners will be included in the process and that the dialogue will remain strictly limited to nuclear-related issues.
