PTI founder's sister Aleema Khan pelted with egg outside Aidala jail

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Friday, a disturbance erupted when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan was struck with an egg during a media talk.

Video footage captured two women hurling eggs at her as she spoke to reporters, briefly startling her before she quickly regained composure. Maintaining a calm tone, Aleema remarked that such incidents were not unexpected and assured that she remained unharmed.

She concluded her remarks shortly afterward and left the site in her vehicle to avoid further confrontation.

The episode triggered strong protests from PTI activists gathered at the location. Party leader Seemabia Tahir was among those who vocally condemned the act. Law enforcement intervened swiftly, arresting the two women involved and moving them to the Adiala police post for interrogation.

Authorities later revealed that the women were employees under the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). They were reportedly demonstrating against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, citing unpaid salaries and administrative grievances.

Reacting to the incident, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan issued a stern condemnation, claiming it was an orchestrated effort to create unrest by targeting the family of the party’s founder.

He stressed that this represented the first direct physical assault onImran Khan’s relatives and called for tighter security measures. Gohar also urged the government to take immediate steps to prevent similar episodes in the future.
