PM Shehbaz calls Malaysian counterpart, expresses solidarity over losses in floods

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reached out to his Malaysian counterpart, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in a phone call to convey Pakistan’s solidarity as Malaysia grapples with the destruction left behind by cyclone-driven floods.

Speaking on behalf of the nation, the government, and in his personal capacity, the premier offered heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives and the extensive damage caused by relentless rains, flooding, and landslides triggered by the recent cyclone.

PM Shehbaz prayed for those who perished, wished a swift recovery for the injured and displaced, and extended unwavering support to the Malaysian people during this difficult time, according to a PM House statement.

He assured that Pakistan stands ready to assist in relief and rescue efforts and is prepared to offer any help Malaysia may need in dealing with the disaster’s aftermath.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for the thoughtful and compassionate call, noting that the gesture was a reflection of the deep and brotherly relations shared by Pakistan and Malaysia.
