CM Maryam says 20,000 green tractors will be distributed among Punjab farmers during FY2026-27 

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that as many as 20,000 green tractors will be distributed to farmers in the next fiscal year, marking a major step toward strengthening agricultural mechanisation across the province.

She said that modern farming equipment has now become a basic necessity rather than a luxury, stressing that Punjab is moving towards a more advanced and technology-driven agricultural system.

Reiterating her government’s commitment, she added that efforts are underway to guide farmers towards modern practices and improved productivity.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that small farmers are being supported through easy access to advanced machinery on a rental basis under government facilitation programmes.

The Punjab chief minister explained that under the Green Tractor Scheme, a subsidy of Rs1 million has been provided on 9,500 high-power tractors, while another 10,000 tractors in the 50 to 65 horsepower range are being supplied to farmers with a subsidy of Rs500,000 each.
