DPM Dar to attend ministerial meeting on Jerusalem in Jordan

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will depart for Amman, Jordan, tonight to participate in a high-level ministerial meeting focused on the situation in Jerusalem, scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, who has invited his counterparts from Arab and Islamic countries to discuss the rapidly deteriorating circumstances in occupied Jerusalem and explore a collective response to the challenges facing the Palestinian people.

The meeting will bring together foreign ministers from the Arab League and a number of Islamic countries, including Pakistan, with the objective of developing a unified and coordinated position on the ongoing developments in occupied Jerusalem.

During the gathering, the participating ministers are expected to deliberate on the latest situation in Palestine, particularly issues related to Jerusalem, and discuss diplomatic efforts aimed at protecting the rights of Palestinians and supporting peace and stability in the region.

The foreign ministers attending the meeting will also have the opportunity to call on King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan and brief him on their discussions and perspectives regarding regional developments.

Apart from his participation in the ministerial session, Ishaq Dar is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from participating countries.

During these engagements, he will exchange views on regional and international issues, including the situation in Palestine and other matters of mutual interest.

Pakistan’s participation in the meeting highlights its consistent diplomatic support for the Palestinian cause and reflects its continued commitment to advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people at international forums.

The Foreign Ministry said Ishaq Dar’s presence at the meeting demonstrates Pakistan’s principled position in favour of the establishment of an independent, sovereign and geographically contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
