Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz announces relief package for farmers

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday announced a set of new measures aimed at supporting farmers and enhancing the agricultural sector in the province.

She said that farmers owning up to 25 acres of land and growing wheat would receive direct financial aid to help ease their cultivation costs.

In a bid to provide further relief, the Punjab CM also announced a diesel subsidy of Rs150 per litre for up to 10 litres, addressing the burden of rising fuel prices.

She noted that the ongoing global crisis has driven up oil costs, which in turn is affecting local farmers’ expenses.

Maryam Nawaz assured the farming community that the government remains committed to standing by them during difficult times.

The chief minister stressed that the farmers of Punjab are central to the country’s economy and emphasized that all possible steps would be taken to protect their rights and support their livelihood.

Meanwhile, the Punjab CM also announced a new relief initiative to benefit owners of registered motorcycles.

As part of the scheme, all charges for bike registration and ownership transfer have been completely waived.

Each eligible motorcycle owner will also receive a monthly subsidy of Rs 2,000, which will cover the cost of 20 liters of petrol.
