Karachi (Staff Report): The 39 death anniversary of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder and former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto would be observed today (Wednesday) and party has finalised all arrangements.
As per details, the PPP will start function of the anniversary at 1.30 p.m on April 04 (Wednesday).
During a condolence meeting on the eve of 39th death anniversary, the Chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former president and Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Chief MinisterSindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Central leaders of the PPP will address to a public meeting at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
A documentary, depicting life and achievements of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will also be shown on the occasion.
Earlier, the Sindh government has announced a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, April 4 and all offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies as well as corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government will remain closed, except for essential services.
It is pertinent to remember that the former premier Bhutto was executed on April 4, 1979 under the government of military dictator General Ziaul Haq following a coup.
