Karachi (Web Desk): Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while addressing a ceremony held in Karachi to commemorate the tragic incident of Car Saz on October 18, remembered the party workers who were martyred in the attack on Benazir Bhutto’s convoy.
Bilawal Bhutto remarked that on this day, we honor the memory of those workers who sacrificed their lives in the service of their leader, Benazir Bhutto.
He said that despite the terrorist threats, Benazir Bhutto continued her struggle without fear, ultimately achieving martyrdom. He emphasized that the PPP continues to follow her mission to this day.
He referred to the Car Saz tragedy as one of the most significant events in Pakistan's history, describing it as a conspiracy against the federal government. Bilawal pointed out that many aspects of this incident remain unclear, and lamented that such unfortunate situations keep recurring in the country.
The PPP Chairman also mentioned that today the party’s executive committee will hold a meeting where party representatives will discuss various issues, including the upcoming meeting with the Prime Minister.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari, on the anniversary of the Car Saz tragedy, paid tribute to the martyred Benazir Bhutto and all other democratic martyrs. In his message, the President stated that despite clear threats, Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan and remained steadfast in her mission. After the Car Saz attack, she visited the wounded and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims, a testament to her humanity and determination.
