PM Shehbaz attends China's grand 80th World War II anniversary parade in Beijing

Beijing (Web Desk): Beijing witnessed a display of military might and diplomatic symbolism as China marked the 80th anniversary of its victory in World War II with a grand parade.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif joined President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived together at the venue, underscoring a powerful regional alignment.

Notably, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not invited to the ceremony, a decision that added further weight to the geopolitical undertones of the event.

The presence of Shehbaz Sharif alongside two of Asia’s most influential leaders was viewed as a sign of Pakistan’s rising importance in regional affairs.

In his address before the parade, President Xi recalled the sacrifices of 80 years ago and urged nations to “eliminate the root cause of war and prevent historical tragedies from recurring.”

He also reaffirmed China’s commitment to peaceful development, projecting a vision of stability and cooperation in the face of global challenges.
