Islamabad (Web Desk): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack near a police van in Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Dera Ismail Khan Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan).
In a condolence message, PM Kakar expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of citizens in the blast.
He also prayed for elevation of ranks of the departed souls in Jannah and grant of courage to the bereaved families to bear this loss with equanimity.
The prime minister instructed the relevant authorities to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.
PM Kakar said war against terrorists would continue until complete eradication of the scourge of terrorism from the country.
"Thanks to the sacrifices of the law enforcement agencies, we have been thwarting the evil intentions of the terrorists," he said.
Meanwhile, Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a statement on Friday, he said terrorists cannot break the resolve of nation to eradicate terrorism from the country.
The minister pledged to deal terrorists with iron hands as they are the enemy of peace and prosperity.
Murtaza Solangi also vowed to eliminate the menace of terrorism with the cooperation of law enforcing agencies and people.
Earlier, the caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has condemned the blast and stated that taking the lives of innocent people is a "cowardly and barbaric act."
"These miscreants cannot demoralise the nation and the law enforcement agencies with such cowardly attacks, the statement said.
At least six people were killed and 21 were injured after a blast targeting a police van was reported from DI Khan, KP Information Minister Firdous Jamal Shah on Friday.
According to police, the vehicle carrying elite force personnel was targeted by unknown militants.
