Jhang(Web Desk): Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari visited Jhang to oversee security and organizational arrangements for Muharram. She chaired a high-level meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's office attended by administrative officials, law enforcement representatives, and religious scholars from various sects.
Addressing the meeting, Azma Bukhari stressed strict implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Punjab government for Muharram. She emphasized that no changes would be allowed to the designated routes of processions, and foolproof security measures must be ensured.
The Minister urged all religious leaders to promote messages of patience, tolerance, and harmony to maintain sectarian peace. Following the meeting, she inspected multiple locations across the city to review arrangements such as lighting, water sprinklers, and installation of CCTV cameras along procession routes.
She gave clear instructions that no negligence would be tolerated in these matters. Azma Bukhari also visited the Safe City Authority control room, where she was briefed on the monitoring systems for the processions.
Later, she personally inspected the 3.5-kilometer main procession route in Jhang city and met with administrators at Imam Bargah Muhajireen, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements.
She also toured various water points set up across the city and directed concerned departments to ensure cleanliness and active presence of food authority teams.
Azma Bukhari warned of strict action against those spreading religious hatred on social media, stating that monitoring of such accounts is ongoing and offenders will be promptly arrested.
